The common house spider Parasteatoda tepidariorum (formerly known as Achaearanea tepidariorum; “Ohimegumo” in Japanese) has emerged as an excellent model to study mechanisms of development and evolutionary processes of animal diversification. This video shows how to culture this spider species in laboratory for research or education use.
